Working meetings of the COP17 presidency delegation have begun in Montreal at the Secretariat of the UN Convention on Biological Diversity.
Hambardzum Matevosyan, Minister of Environment of the RA; together with Astrid Schomaker, Executive Secretary of the Convention on Biological Diversity; the Deputy Executive Secretary; and colleagues from the Secretariat, discussed the final preparations for COP17, scheduled to take place in Yerevan, as well as key negotiating and policy issues and the effective organization of high-level proceedings.
With just over a month remaining until COP17, the country's priority at this stage is to ensure full substantive and organizational readiness for the conference through close coordination with the Convention’s Secretariat.
