During the working sessions held in recent days, the Secretariat presented a package of key discussion topics covering several priority areas, including planning, monitoring, reporting and review mechanisms, resource mobilization, implementation of Article 8(j) of the Convention, ensuring the participation of local and indigenous communities, capacity-building, the gender action plan, review of the effectiveness of the Convention, as well as the strategic review and updating of programme work.
Within the discussions, particular attention is also being paid to the interlinkages between biodiversity and climate change, sustainable wildlife management, as well as the relationship between biodiversity and agriculture, along with other important topics.
It should be recalled that, by decision of Nikol Pashinyan, from 9 to 11 March the delegation of the Republic of Armenia, led by Hambardzum Matevosyan, Minister of Environment of the RA, is participating in meetings organized by the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) in Montreal, Canada.
