Opportunities for Expanding Armenian–Japanese Cooperation Were Discussed

Possible opportunities for expanding Armenian–Japanese cooperation were discussed at the Ministry of Environment.
Aram Meymaryan, Deputy Minister of Environment of the RA, met with Minoru Kunoki, representative of the East and Central Asia and Caucasus Division of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for expanding cooperation between Armenia and Japan in the field of environmental protection, particularly in the areas of biodiversity conservation in Lake Sevan, improvement of wastewater treatment systems, and the development of water resources monitoring systems.
The parties emphasized the importance of ensuring the continuity and effective implementation of programmes aimed at preserving the ecosystem of Lake Sevan, highlighting water quality monitoring as a key priority.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties agreed to continue discussions with a view to developing potential cooperation programmes.
