Minister Hambardzum Matevosyan to Participate in the Sixth Meeting of the Subsidiary Body on Implementation of the Convention on Biological Diversity

By decision of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Hambardzum Matevosyan, Minister of Environment of the RA, has been delegated to Rome, Italy to participate in the sixth meeting of the Subsidiary Body on Implementation (SBI-6) of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD).
The SBI plays a key role in reviewing progress in the implementation of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework.
SBI 6 will focus on strengthening resource mobilization, enhancing financial mechanisms, and improving national reporting processes in preparation for the global review to be conducted at COP17.
In the context of preparations for COP17, discussions are planned on the following agenda items:
-    Review of progress in updating and implementing National Biodiversity Strategies and Action Plans (NBSAPs) in line with the 2025 targets.
-    Assessment of the interlinkages between debt sustainability and implementation of the Convention, as well as a review of biodiversity financing mechanisms.
-    Development of a framework for the global review of progress towards the KM–GBF targets, to be finalized at COP17.
