Hambardzum Matevosyan, Minister of Environment of the RA, received Luke Fochtman, Acting Director of the Asian Development Bank Armenian Resident Mission and Vardan Karapetyan, Programme Manager. Aram Meymaryan, Deputy Minister of Environment of the RA, also participated in the meeting.
The discussion focused on the preparatory process for the COP17, including the organizational agenda, coordination requirements, and potential areas of support.
The parties also addressed environmental and climate programmes implemented in cooperation with the ADB, as well as upcoming initiatives aimed at promoting sustainable environmental development and enhancing climate resilience in Armenia. Particular attention was given to programmes focused on the protection of the Lake Sevan ecosystem.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides reaffirmed the importance of continuing their partnership and expressed readiness to jointly advance initiatives that strengthen environmental outcomes and support Armenia’s long-term sustainable development priorities.
