Minister Hambardzum Matevosyan Presents Preparations for COP17

Hambardzum Matevosyan, Minister of Environment of the RA, met with representatives of diplomatic missions and international organizations accredited in Armenia to present the progress of preparations for the 17th Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD COP17), as well as the upcoming priorities.
The meeting was the third in this format, providing an opportunity to continue an open, inclusive and constructive dialogue with partners, present the progress achieved, hear their recommendations, and address organizational and substantive issues.
The Minister highlighted the progress of the preparatory process, cooperation with international partners over recent months, and the key milestones leading up to the conference.
He also presented the initiatives of the Armenian COP17 Presidency, which are intended to strengthen international cooperation, promote innovative solutions, and deliver lasting outcomes for biodiversity conservation beyond the conference itself.
Partners were also briefed on the organizational and logistical preparations for the conference, including infrastructure readiness, transport, security, delegation reception, registration, communications, and other key operational arrangements.
