Hambardzum Matevosyan, Minister of Environment of the RA, met with members of the “Council X” youth initiative.
During the meeting, the parties discussed a number of key issues of interest and concern to young people in the environmental sphere, ranging from the Ministry’s ongoing activities to priority sectoral challenges. Topics included the development of the waste management system, measures aimed at improving air quality, enhancing the effectiveness of environmental control, as well as the organizational processes related to the COP17.
The Minister emphasized the importance of expanding youth engagement and developing new formats for participation, noting that the activity and initiative of young people play a crucial role in driving meaningful change in the sector.
“I highly value the awareness, strong interest and sense of responsibility demonstrated by young people towards environmental issues. Such meetings are important for fostering trust, open dialogue and joint solutions. We will continue our efforts to create more inclusive and participatory platforms for the environmentally sustainable development of our country,” the Minister noted.
