In Rome, within the framework of the sixth meeting of the Subsidiary Body on Implementation (SBI 6) of the Convention on Biological Diversity, Hambardzum Matevosyan, Minister of Environment of the RA, met with Astrid Schomaker, Executive Secretary of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD).
The discussion focused on preparatory work for COP17 the key priorities and areas of focus for the upcoming phase, aligned with the implementation of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework.
The parties emphasized the importance of strengthened and coordinated cooperation with international partners, accelerating practical actions for the conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity, and enhancing coordination among national and regional initiatives to ensure a more results-oriented and impactful COP17.
Minister Matevosyan expressed his appreciation to Ms. Schomaker for her continued engagement in constructive dialogue and for her support throughout the preparatory process.
