Hambardzum Matevosyan, Minister of Environment of the RA, accompanied by representatives of state agencies and members of the Organizing Committee established to oversee the organization and conduct of the 17th Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (COP17), conducted a working visit to the “Meridian” Expo Center ahead of the Committee’s regular session.
The visit aimed to review the ongoing construction and renovation works on site. During the tour, the work completed to date was presented, along with the timeline and key areas of the upcoming stages.
Particular emphasis was placed on assessing the progress of preparations on site and ensuring that all processes are being carried out in accordance with the established schedule and in line with quality standards.
It should be recalled that the 17th Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP17) will be held at the “Meridian” Expo Center from 19 to 30 October 2026.
Through the consistent implementation of the planned activities, Armenia will be fully prepared to host COP17 at a high level.
