Today, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Armenia and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) on the implementation of a technical assistance programme aimed at supporting the organization of the 17th Conference of the Parties (COP17) to the Convention on Biological Diversity.
The memorandum provides for grant support to strengthen the organizational and coordination capacities related to COP17, support knowledge-based research in the field of biodiversity, and promote international cooperation and exchange of experience.
This cooperation marks an important step in Armenia’s preparations for hosting COP17 at a high level. It will contribute not only to the effective organization of the conference, but also to presenting Armenia’s biodiversity, environmental policy and commitment to nature conservation on the international stage.
Minister Hambardzum Matevosyan expressed gratitude to Lyaziza Sabyrova, ADB Country Director for Armenia, for her continued support and effective cooperation with Armenia.
