On August 12, the world celebrates International Youth Day. This year, the “Ozone Layer Protection” programme again organized a meeting with about 30 young people, reflecting the message of the day. It took place at Noyemberyan State College, where young people are being given the opportunity for the first time to choose the “Refrigeration Industry” specialty.
The specialty was introduced at Yerevan, Armavir and Ararat State Regional Colleges in 2019 within the framework of cooperation between the Ministry of Environment of the RA, UNIDO and the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of the RA.
The MAVETA project also plays an important role in the development of this specialty, one of whose goals is to ensure that vocational education is as closely aligned as possible with the real working environment. The project representative informed the participants that the “Refrigeration Industry” specialty at Noyemberyan State College will be implemented in a dual education format. Thus, students will acquire professional knowledge not only at the college but also in a real working environment, combining theoretical training with practical experience.
In the second part of the event, participants had the opportunity to become familiar with the equipment and tools used in the field through thematic practical games and demonstrations, as well as to acquire initial practical knowledge.
The “Institutional Strengthening and Capacity Building” programme is funded by the Montreal Protocol Multilateral Fund (MLF).
The programme is implemented by the Ministry of Environment of the RA with the support of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO).
