Meeting Held Between Hambardzum Matevosyan and Julie Dabrusin

Due to adverse weather conditions in Canada, the meeting between Hambardzum Matevosyan, Minister of Environment of the RA and Julie Dabrusin, Minister of Environment and Climate Change of Canada, was held online.
Anahit Harutyunyan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to Canada, also participated in the meeting.
During the meeting, the parties referred to the meetings held in Montreal with the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity, dedicated to the preparatory work for the COP17 and the priorities of the Armenian presidency.
Within the framework of the discussion, the parties addressed a number of organizational and substantive issues related to the COP17 summit planned to be held in Armenia, as well as possible formats of cooperation in this context.
They also exchanged views on opportunities for cooperation in the areas of biodiversity conservation, environmental policy and addressing global environmental challenges.
Both sides emphasized the importance of the successful organization of COP17 as a key platform for advancing the global agenda on biodiversity conservation.
