Kunming Dialogue Officially Launched

The Kunming Dialogue of the UN Convention on Biological Diversity was officially launched in Kunming, the People’s Republic of China, with an official opening event.
As President of COP17, Hambardzum Matevosyan, Minister of Environment of the RA, participated in the opening plenary session of the dialogue and delivered a speech, presenting the vision and approaches of the Armenian presidency regarding the first global review of collective progress in the implementation of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework.
The event is dedicated to preparations for the first global review of collective progress in the implementation of the Global Biodiversity Framework.
The dialogue brought together representatives of Parties to the Convention, Indigenous Peoples and local communities, youth, academia, the private and financial sectors, and other stakeholders.
The discussions will focus on progress and gaps in implementing the Global Biodiversity Framework, additional steps towards achieving its goals and targets by 2030, and opportunities for international cooperation.
The results of the dialogue will be presented at COP17 in Yerevan and will serve as an important basis for further discussions and decisions on the first global review of the implementation of the Global Biodiversity Framework.
