Hambardzum Matevosyan Participated in the G7 Environment Ministers' Meeting

At the invitation of Monique Barbut, Minister for the Ecological Transition, Biodiversity and International Climate and Nature Negotiations of the French Republic, Minister Hambardzum Matevosyan participated in the G7 Environment Ministers' Meeting in Paris.
Within the framework of the visit, Hambardzum Matevosyan took part in a reception for delegations at the Musée de l’Homme in Paris, where he met with Barbara Pompili, French Ambassador for the Environment, Julie Aviva Dabrusin, Minister of Environment and Climate Change of Canada, Steven Stone, Deputy Director of the Industry and Economy Division of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), as well as other high-level representatives from various countries.
During the discussions, the parties addressed the priorities of the Republic of Armenia’s presidency within the framework of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (COP17), the progress of preparatory work, and opportunities for expanding cooperation with international partners.
They emphasized the importance of active engagement in multilateral formats and the promotion of joint initiatives aimed at biodiversity conservation and effectively addressing climate challenges.
“As the host country of the upcoming conference, Armenia highly appreciates such high-level contacts, which provide an opportunity to strengthen partnerships and develop a coordinated agenda aimed at addressing global environmental challenges,” the Minister noted.
