Combating Illegal Wildlife Trade: Strengthening Cooperation in the Caucasus

A two-day workshop entitled “Combating Illegal Wildlife Trade in the Caucasus” was held in Yerevan, bringing together experts from Armenia and Georgia, as well as international experts.
The event provided a platform to exchange experiences, discuss current challenges, and explore opportunities for strengthening cooperation, particularly in the areas of border control and information sharing.
The programme also included practical exercises and group work aimed at enhancing mechanisms for the detection and prevention of illegal wildlife trade.
The workshop was organized by the Foundation for the Preservation of Wildlife and Cultural Assets (FPWC) and Fauna & Flora, in cooperation with the Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Armenia and the Environmental Protection and Mining Inspection Body.
