August 12 is International Youth Day, which aims to raise awareness among young people and draw attention to the issues they face.
On the occasion of International Youth Day, Hambardzum Matevosyan, Minister of Environment of the RA, met with members of the Youth Council on Climate Change under the Ministry of Environment of the RA and UNICEF.
During the meeting, the youth presented the Minister with the “National Youth Statement”, which was developed within the framework of the Local Youth Conference, LCOY Armenia, with the participation of more than 100 young people and adolescents from different regions of Armenia.
The statement summarizes the priorities, proposals and expectations of Armenian youth on climate change, presenting their united position.
“It is important for me that the voice of young people be heard, and their involvement in the processes of shaping the environmental and climate agendas be real and effective. "The ideas, initiative, and innovative approaches of young people can make a significant contribution to the development and implementation of our country's environmental policies," the minister noted.
