Ara Mkrtchyan, Deputy Minister of Environment of the RA, received Laura Milne, Country Director of the Office for the Raoul Wallenberg Institute in Armenia.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the ongoing cooperation between the Ministry of Environment of the RA and the Raoul Wallenberg Institute, as well as new opportunities for expanding cooperation aimed at improving environmental governance, strengthening the protection of environmental rights, and enhancing institutional capacities in the sector.
The discussion also covered potential areas of cooperation in the protection of environmental rights, access to justice, access to information, and the promotion of public participation in decision-making, with emphasis on the effective implementation of the principles of the Aarhus Convention.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their commitment to continuing cooperation and agreed to develop a joint agenda for future activities.
