On 26 March 2026, the Green Climate Fund (GCF) Board approved Armenia’s new national programme, “Developing National Adaptation Capacities to Climate Change-Induced Natural Hazards through Strengthening Monitoring and Early Warning Systems.”
This initiative, with a total value of approximately USD 10 million, became the first GCF-funded adaptation programme in Armenia and is being implemented by national institutions: the “Environmental Projects Implementation Unit” SA and the “Hydrometeorology and Monitoring Center” SNCO, under the coordination of the Ministry of Environment of the RA.
