Hambardzum Matevosyan, Minister of Environment of the RA, participated in the official celebration of World Meteorological Day, as well as the professional days of foresters and hydrologists in the Republic of Armenia.
During the event, the Minister congratulated representatives of the sector, emphasizing that their work is of key importance not only for environmental protection, but also for national security, economic stability, and public well-being.
In his remarks, the Minister referred to the global challenges posed by climate change, noting that scientifically grounded observations, accurate forecasting, and effective early warning systems are more important than ever. He stressed that these tools enable timely responses to hazardous weather events, reduce risks, and help protect both communities and natural resources.
The event also featured a presentation of the main results, achievements, and future development priorities of “Armhydromet” SNCO. An award ceremony was held to recognize a number of employees for their professional dedication and contributions to the development of the sector.
