The Republic of Armenia will temporarily simplify the visa regime for COP17 participants.
The Government plans to temporarily lift the restriction in force since 2008, according to which citizens of a number of countries could obtain entry visas only through diplomatic missions or consular offices upon receiving an invitation.
According to the draft decision, representatives of certain countries participating in COP17 will also be able to obtain entry visas through the E-VISA electronic system.
The draft decision was developed jointly by the Ministry of Environment of the RA, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the RA and the National Security Service of the RA.
The proposed changes are expected to simplify the process of obtaining entry visas to Armenia for certain groups of participants in the international conference.
