Vahe Davtyan Received Representatives of the Green Climate Fund

Vahe Davtyan, Deputy Minister of Environment of the RA, received representatives of the Green Climate Fund, led by Thomas Eriksson, Regional Director, to discuss ongoing cooperation and the continuation of joint programmes.
Armen Yesoyan, Acting Director of the “Environmental Project Implementation Unit” SA, and representatives of the relevant departments of the Ministry also attended the meeting.
During the meeting, the parties discussed climate change initiatives, including two national programmes recently approved by the Fund, their long-term effectiveness, and the development of new areas of cooperation aligned with Armenia’s national priorities. Emphasis was placed on the coordinated implementation of programmes, a results-based approach, and the deepening of cooperation.
The Ministry underscored the importance of the ongoing partnership both in terms of advancing national priorities and fulfilling international commitments. The work carried out within the framework of the programmes, which has long-term and regional significance, including in the development of new approaches in the field of energy efficiency, was highly appreciated.
The parties also highlighted the need to define programmatic priorities for the next financing cycle of the Green Climate Fund.
The Regional Director of the Green Climate Fund commended Armenia’s active engagement and expressed readiness to continue cooperation towards the green transition, emphasizing the country’s growing role in regional programmes.
The parties reaffirmed their readiness to continue cooperation and to develop new initiatives in the upcoming phase.
