The Central Bank of the Republic of Armenia will issue the “COP17” silver commemorative coin, dedicated to the 17th Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity.
Notably, this is the first commemorative coin of the Central Bank made from recycled silver. No gas or other fossil fuels were used during production; the minting process relied entirely on solar energy, and all packaging components were made from recycled paper.
This commemorative coin is part of the symbolic legacy of COP17. It is significant not only because it is dedicated to nature and the preservation of biodiversity, but also because its entire production process reflects the conference’s message: “Taking Action for Nature.”
