Representatives of the Ministry of Environment of the RA, the “Republican Veterinary-Sanitary and Phytosanitary Laboratory Services Center” SNCO of the Food Safety Inspection Body of the RA, and the Department of Genetics and Cytology of the Faculty of Biology of Yerevan State University participated in a study visit to Vienna on 11–13 March focused on biosafety and access to information.
Participants were introduced to the European Union legal framework governing genetically modified organisms (GMOs), Austria’s national policy in this field, as well as laboratory capacities for GMO detection, quality control and monitoring, and the relevant risk assessment requirements.
