A silver commemorative coin dedicated to COP17 was officially unveiled.
Hambardzum Matevosyan, Minister of Environment of the RA, the Governor of the Central Bank of Armenia, representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the RA, guests, and members of the media attended the event.
Leading up to COP17, this marked another significant step in highlighting the conference and shaping its symbolic legacy. Notably, this is the Central Bank’s first commemorative coin made from recycled silver.
Minister Hambardzum Matevosyan emphasised the importance of the upcoming conference leaving a visible and lasting legacy, in addition to its political and professional outcomes. This commemorative coin is part of that legacy; through its symbolism and method of production, it embodies the conference’s message: “Taking Action for Nature.” Commemorative coins with environmental themes issued by the Central Bank in previous years were also displayed during the event, showcasing the ongoing reflection of nature and biodiversity conservation in numismatic initiatives.
The Minister expressed gratitude to the Central Bank of the Republic of Armenia for this important initiative.
