Official Visit to the Ministry of Environment of the RA

The Ministry of Environment of the RA hosted a delegation from Tajikistan to exchange experience and deepen cooperation on the climate agenda.
From 5 to 8 May, with the support of the NDC Partnership and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Office in Tajikistan, the Ministry hosted a delegation from the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan.
The visit focused on strengthening bilateral institutional capacities and enhancing cross-sectoral cooperation in the development, implementation and monitoring of climate commitments undertaken within the framework of the Paris Agreement.
The delegation also visited Dilijan National Park, where members became acquainted with Armenia’s experience in protected area management, ecosystem monitoring, environmental priorities and community-based tourism management.
During the concluding meeting held on 8 May, Aram Meymaryan, Deputy Minister of Environment of the RA, noted that the dialogue between the two countries on the climate agenda serves as an important platform for jointly addressing regional and global challenges.
Hayrapet Hakobyan, NDC Partnership In-Country Facilitator for Armenia, also highlighted the importance of cooperation and experience-sharing among countries within the framework of the NDC Partnership, emphasizing the role of effective coordination and international support in the implementation of climate policies.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties agreed to continue cooperation and make mutual study visits a regular practice.
