Natural Stocks of Sevan Khramulya Are Being Restored in Lake Sevan
May 25, 2026
For the first time, an unprecedented programme aimed at restoring the natural stocks of the Sevan khramulya (Varicorhinus capoeta sevangi) has been implemented.
A broodstock population has been collected, and the resulting fry are planned to be released into Lake Sevan in 2027.
The programme is an important strategic investment in restoring the natural balance of the lake’s ecosystem and creates a foundation for ensuring long-term sustainable results.
