Minister Hambardzum Matevosyan to Participate in G7 Environment Ministers’ Meeting

At the invitation of Monique Barbut, Minister for the Ecological Transition, Biodiversity and International Climate and Nature Negotiations of the French Republic, Hambardzum Matevosyan, Minister of Environment of the RA, will participate in the G7 Environment Ministers’ Meeting to be held in Paris on 22–24 April.
The meeting aims to strengthen political dialogue among member states and coordinate approaches in the areas of climate change and environmental protection.
Discussions will focus on climate action, energy transition, biodiversity conservation and the reduction of environmental impacts. Issues such as combating desertification, land degradation, water and marine resource management, as well as illegal fishing, will also be addressed.
The outcomes of the meeting are expected to contribute to the formulation of common positions for decisions to be adopted at the G7 Summit, as well as to advancing global biodiversity goals within the framework of COP17.
