July 13, 2026

The Ministry of Environment of the RA and the “American Chamber of Commerce in Armenia” NGO have signed a Memorandum of Understanding.
The Memorandum of Understanding aims to strengthen cooperation with the private sector in the preparation and organization of the 17th Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD COP17).
Under the Memorandum, the parties will jointly promote private sector engagement in initiatives aimed at the conservation, restoration, and sustainable use of natural resources.
The partnership also envisages organizing a “Business and Biodiversity Dialogue Day” in the COP17 Green Zone, holding panel discussions, engaging representatives of the business community, and expanding cooperation with sectoral platforms.
Aram Meymaryan, Deputy Minister of Environment of the RA, noted that the Ministry attaches great importance to such partnerships, emphasizing that they provide an opportunity to align environmental priorities with economic development while ensuring sustainable, long-term results.
"It is important for us that cooperation between the public and private sectors is based on a balanced approach to environmental and economic interests. We are convinced that such partnerships contribute to fostering a responsible business culture, advancing biodiversity conservation goals, and ensuring the successful organization of COP17," the Deputy Minister said.
