The closing event of the Green Climate Fund and UNDP–GCF “De-Risking and Scaling-Up Investments in Energy Efficient Building Retrofits” project was held.
The event brought together representatives of state agencies, international partners, financial institutions, academia and civil society to summarize the results of the project implemented since 2017 and to discuss the further development of energy efficiency policy in Armenia.
Launched in 2017, the project has contributed to Armenia’s transition towards a low-carbon and energy-secure future by improving the energy efficiency of residential and public buildings, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and enhancing citizens’ well-being.
During the event, it was emphasized that the project’s outcomes play an important role in the implementation of Armenia’s energy security and climate commitments under the Paris Agreement.
Aram Meymaryan, Deputy Minister of Environment of the RA, emphasized in his remarks that the project has become an important milestone in the development of the energy efficiency sector in Armenia.
