Working discussions on the priorities of the COP17 Presidency are being held in Montreal at the initiative of the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD).
Meetings with the leadership of the CBD Secretariat, international partners, and experts in the field are also planned as part of the three-day working programme.
At the beginning of the visit, prior to the scheduled meetings, Minister Hambardzum Matevosyan held a separate working meeting with Astrid Schomaker, Executive Secretary of the Convention on Biological Diversity, and Jihyun Lee, Deputy Executive Secretary of the Convention on Biological Diversity.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the agenda of the visit, organizational matters, as well as issues related to Armenia’s role within the framework of the COP17 presidency and future areas of cooperation.
