The UN Environment Programme, in partnership with the Caucasus Network for Sustainable Development of Mountain Regions, has launched the Mountains ADAPT Small Grants Funding Scheme 2026 to support local climate change adaptation initiatives in vulnerable mountain communities in the South Caucasus.
The scheme will support local and community-based organizations in Armenia, as well as other South Caucasus countries, to develop and implement practical, locally driven initiatives that respond to the impacts of climate change.
Grant amounts are up to US$30,000.
The proposed projects should:

  • contribute to strengthening the capacity and resilience of local communities;
  • address identified climate risks and impacts;
  • be consistent with national and subnational policies and programmes;
  • incorporate nature-based solutions as a core approach.
