At the Invitation of Monique Barbut, Minister Hambardzum Matevosyan Participated in G7 Environment Ministers’ Meeting

At the invitation of Monique Barbut, Minister for the Ecological Transition, Biodiversity and International Climate and Nature Negotiations of France, Hambardzum Matevosyan participated in the G7 Environment Ministers’ Meeting in Paris.
During the visit, Minister Matevosyan also held a bilateral meeting with Minister Barbut.
Hambardzum Matevosyan expressed his gratitude for the invitation and effective cooperation, emphasizing France’s important role in international environmental processes and its status as a strategic partner for Armenia.
Key priorities of the G7 agenda were discussed, including biodiversity financing, challenges related to desertification, water resources management, and efforts to combat pollution.
Minister Matevosyan also presented Armenia’s approaches to organizing the 17th Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity, emphasizing the importance of a results-oriented, adequately funded, and accountable process.
The Minister reaffirmed Armenia’s readiness to deepen cooperation with France and to ensure the successful and impactful hosting of COP17 in Armenia.
