The Yerevan Council of Elders approved a draft decision to establish a locally significant specially protected natural area in the Hrazdan Gorge, classified as a protected area.
Granting the Hrazdan Gorge the status of a specially protected natural area will help ensure the effective protection of its geological, natural and historical and cultural monuments, as well as its flora and fauna, including species listed in the Red Book of the Republic of Armenia.
