A love for nature often begins with one small step

August 04, 2026

Edward Sinanyan, from the village of Karahunj in Armenia's Syunik Province, has been beekeeping since the age of 16. Starting with just three beehives, he has gradually expanded his apiary to 130 hives.
In recent years, Edward has also begun "bringing home" wild bee colonies. He restores traps placed in rocky cliffs, collects wild honey during August and September, and relocates most of the bees to his apiary.
Bees play a vital role in maintaining healthy ecosystems and pollinating countless plant species. Edward's dedication is a reminder that the commitment of a single individual can make a meaningful contribution to protecting nature.
Nature's heroes are all around us.
